We are artists our candles are carefully crafted with a specific intention to spread the lost art of presence while opening a doorway into the past, one flicker at a time. Our Gastown artisans hand pour each candle in small batch, reusable vessels which showcase original, hand drawn artwork to illuminate the essence of the 1800’s. We use 100% North American gown soy wax, natural cotton wicks, pure essential oils and phthalate free fragrances.

We are storytellers our story began in the womb of Historic Gastown [est. 1867]. It is through the lens of this notable era that we draw our core inspirations from. Each candle recounts a piece of history, re-found and relayed to the community. The more we learn about history, the more we can learn about ourselves, for we are not only the sum of our experiences, but the amalgamation of everything that has come before us. Immersed in each flame is a chance to re-collect where we came from.

We are entertainers we aim to create an all-encompassing experience that enlightens the
faculties of sensation and sparks imagination, curiosity and adventure from the smallest and most simple entity; a flame, the first historical form of entertainment. Through artistic
expression and storytelling, we hope to foster the enthusiastic energy of discovery, idiosyncrasy and the beginner's mind so reflected in the 1800’s.

CANDLE CARE

We use 100% North American gown soy wax, natural cotton wicks, pure essential oils and
phthalate free fragrances. Hand poured in small batch, reusable vessels.

With proper care, our candles will burn up to 45 hours.

Only burn candles on a level, fire resistant surface.

On your first burn, allow the wax to melt all the way to the edges. This ensures smooth and even subsequent burns. Each candle has a memory, if you don’t burn to the edges on the first burn, you may cause wax tunneling.

Keep candles free of any foreign materials such as wick trimmings and matches.

For longer lasting, optimal burning without smoking or overheating, trim your wick to ¼” before each burn.

Never leave a lit candle unattended. Never burn candles near drafts, vibrations or anything flammable. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Candles should be burned for no longer than 4 hours at a time. Allow 2 hours of cooling before trimming and re-lighting.
